Hello everyone!

Today, I visited a charming old fashioned café called “Komimura” on Iriomote Island.

The café is nestled in nature, creating an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease 🌿

What’s even more special is that this café is run by the mother of the famous singer, Rimi Natsukawa!

I was pleasantly surprised to learn this, but the café’s warm and welcoming vibe made it all make sense 😊

As you approach the café, you’re greeted by an old wooden sign that exudes a comforting warmth.

The entrance is adorned with cute Shisa statues and pottery plant pots, giving off a nostalgic feel 🐾

The relaxed island atmosphere surrounds you, welcoming you in.

Once inside, the handwritten menu board catches your eye.

It features a selection of delicious dishes made with local ingredients, such as “Soba Set” and “Bamboo Shoot Champuru Set Meal” 🍴

It’s hard to choose just one!

I decided to cool off with a perfect summer treat: shaved ice.

This particular one was drenched in vibrant orange syrup 🍧

On a hot summer day, the sensation of the icy treat melting in your mouth is pure bliss. Its bright appearance practically begs to be photographed 📸

Spending time at this old-fashioned café while soaking in the natural beauty of Iriomote Island is truly something special.
